Airspace Defender
Airspace Defender is available on the Meta Quest Store! |
Airspace Defender is a fully 3D take on the classic Missile Command, where you "point and click" with your hands to launch missiles in a desktop volume. The game also has light roguelike elements in the form of choosing more powerful and varied weapons as you level up during a "run".
It is both my most recent and best-received game (UploadVR wrote: "The fresh take on this arcade-style gameplay with its vector graphics and nice use of hand tracking make it a must-have for Quest."). I worked on it with the same folks from Tablecraft. The "vector graphics" in Mixed Reality required some blog-worthy tricks... coming soon!
Overthrone

Overthrone is an unreleased turn based RPG. It's designed with 2-player online co-op in mind, and has a unique "synchronous undoable turns" system.
The scope of this project was too big, but it was very fun to work on, especially since we were able to play the game we were making together while working remotely. We changed from a hex grid to a "continuous" environment (really an obfuscated fine grid) midway through development, and it was the first time I really went deep on terrain systems, procedural rendering, and a lot of other things, though the multiplayer is what I'm proudest of.

Tablecraft is free on the Meta Quest Store! |
Tablecraft is a VR crafting game where the player combines elements from the periodic table to create toys and monsters and such. It was funded by the National Science Foundation.
The goal was to create a VR learning game that would actually work in a classroom setting -- i.e. a place where there is maybe 1 headset per 10 students. Also, the whole experience needs to be learnable and completable in a 30 minute session... Our approach was to focus on a relatively simple sandbox, and we added a "tablet helper" app which connects to the main headset so everyone can participate. The whole thing runs on Oculus Quest 1 at 90 fps! My proudest feature is the ridiculous diegetic save system, though. Note the grabbable multi-constraint levers and the world warping!
Cosmo Cheats at Poker

Cosmo is available on Steam. Custom poker deck available here. |
Cosmo is single-player Texas Hold-'Em poker, except the player has "cheat" cards in their "sleeve" that do things like re-randomize the river on their turn.
The goal was for the Overthrone team to make something shippable in a few months. Single-player poker turns out to be none too thrilling, but I had a good time making a poker engine that supports cheats, and we were proud of the Futurama-style backwater asteroids we set the game in.

My Itch page has a few of my first games on it! Not including clones of flash games I may or may not have written in TI-BASIC on an orange-painted graphing calculator and since lost...
